I’ve sewn some very fun things for Easter over the years! I love to round up things I’ve made for various holidays and I’ve made some interesting things for this one. Since this is a holiday that typically involves gifts in the form of Easter baskets, it’s a good opportunity to sew some sweet things that will become a part of great memories.

So, today I’m sharing six things I’ve sewn for Easter over the years. A few of these are decor and a few are things I made my kids to put in their Easter baskets when they were younger. All of my kids are teens now, but I do still give them Easter baskets!

My Favorite T-Shirt Sewing Patterns

Yesterday I promised I’d share some great t-shirt sewing patterns with you all! T-shirt sewing is fun and easy, but finding a perfect pattern can be so hard. It’s funny that the most basic garments are hardest to find the perfect patterns for.

If you haven’t seen my newest video tutorial, you can see how I make a t-shirt using a store bought one to make a pattern. But, you may not have a t-shirt to cut up for that purpose, so I wanted to list the tee patterns I’ve had success with over and over again. Once you have a pattern, you can use the techniques and tips in that video and in my fail proof neckband tutorial, to make a closet full of favorite t-shirts.

How to Sew an Easy Apron

This sewing tutorial has been a long time coming! In fact, I’m surprised it’s taken me this long to create an apron tutorial because I’ve been making this same exact apron for literally decades. So, a little late, I know, but today I’m sharing with you how to sew a simple kitchen bib apron!

My mom is really the one who deserves credit for this apron, since she’s the one who started making these many years ago. She’s made countless aprons for housewarming gifts, bridal shower gifts, and birthday/Christmas gifts. During my first year of marriage, she made me an apron for every holiday that came along that year. So I had cute aprons in holiday fabrics to wear for years to come! So cute and clever.

Tips for Sewing with Burlap (Plus Project Ideas!)

Recently I designed a doll clothes pattern that includes a sun hat and market tote, which I really wanted to try making out burlap. Burlap is a fabric I had never sewn before! So there was some trial and error involved, but by the time I was finished with the pattern, I had written down several tips and tricks for sewing with burlap, so I’m going to share those with you today. I’ll include things like what needle to use, how to finish those raw edges so they don’t unravel, plus the thing I did very WRONG when I first started, ha!

AND, since doll hats and bags hardly take any fabric and I have quite a chunk of nice burlap left over, I set out to find more projects I can make with burlap, so I’ll post those burlap sewing project ideas here too.

How to Sew Easy Kitchen Tea Towels, 2 Ways

I have a great, easy kitchen sewing tutorial for you today! I wanted to sew a little something for Mothers Day gifts and I had the best little border print in my drawer, just perfect for some pretty, sewn tea towels. DIY kitchen towels are so easy and they make such sweet gifts. Also, these tea towels somehow last a very long time. I received a few from my sister when I was first married and while other kitchen towels have come and gone, I still use the ones she made!

I’ve since made even more tea towels for myself after scoring a couple of fun prints and a heathered linen at Hobby Lobby in the clearance bin recently. A ruffle and/or fun trim take these kitchen towels to the next level, so I went ahead and filmed a video tutorial to share with you here.

I’m here to share with you the next installment of my 18 inch doll clothes sewing patterns! I’m having so much fun creating these patterns and I have unashamedly added a few dolls to our collection in the process … for the business, you know ;)

Sew a Heart Quilt Block || A Beginner Friendly Tutorial

I got the quilting bug recently and really wanted to make something for the Valentines season that I could share with you here too. I came up with a simple heart quilt block incorporating scraps of fabric. I turned my first version into fun mini quilt to hang up in my sewing room, but I’m planning to turn my second version into a pillow. It’s in the prettiest pinks and purples, so it will look so cute on the comfy chair in my sewing room.

Quilting doesn’t take any difficult skills, I promise! If you can use a sewing machine, you can make a quilt. In this tutorial, you’ll learn to make half square triangles, which is a common technique in quilting. Once you learn that, you can make so many different blocks! All those star blocks you see in quilts use half square triangles.
